There’s a political importance to “drag”. To take photographs like this is one of the reasons that I continue to pick up my camera. A burlesque troupe turned boy band, blurring the lines between hegemonic femininity and masculinity – I love it.
This post marks the end of a long hiatus, filled with much reflection and personal growth. What I’m doing and why I’m doing it hasn’t changed, but the passion with which I explore it has been renewed. It’s time for me to start sharing my ideas again – the why behind the what of my photographs. This is an effort to re-integrate more aspects of “me” and to bring together the multiple spheres of my existence into a greater whole.
I hope this change is for the better.
But when change is a result of growth, how can things not get better?
(More coming soon on my thoughts re. why and how I’m growing this space and changing it to suit me a little better. I hope you enjoy taking this journey with me.)
